The Workshop Computers has built a reputation for affordable quick computer and laptop repairs.
We are open to repair your laptop, when most businesses are closed. Our dedicated home workshop at the side of our house means we can provide a much more flexible working time. So don’t panic or stress call us any day from 8am to 9pm for FREE friendly advice.
What Can We Repair?
Broken Or Smashed Screens:
Our most frequent repair is laptop screen replacement.
We try to keep a stock of common laptop screens. Because of the vast range of types, our normal turn round time for screen repair is usually around 2 days. If you have a damaged, broken or cracked laptop screen bring it to us. We will remove the screen and order a new one from the part number on the reverse of the laptop screen. If ordered before 4 pm the new laptop screens often arrive within 48 hours. Sometimes the next morning.
Screen Failures:
Screen failures are sometimes caused by the graphic card, this does not mean the screen itself is faulty, but that the chip responsible for creating the image is not functioning. This issue can be resolved by a process called re-balling or re-flowing. though this is not one of those simple laptop repairs and can on occasion not work. In the case of screen failure or graphic chip failure, the data on the hard drive is not normally affected and can be recovered and saved to storage.
Lost Files:
We also recover lost files, as well as virus removal. Don’t worry about deleted files, accidentally formatted hard drive, or faulty memory stick, stop using it asap, bring it to us and we will use all the knowledge and software tools at our disposal to retrieve the lost data or files. We have saved data pictures music and precious documents so many times now. I find this the most rewarding work as people are so pleased when their files are recovered and everything is restored to normal.

If you need to get back to working in a hurry we can loan a refurbished laptop to use while your laptop is in with The Workshop for service and repair. We can save data from your laptop or computer and put it on the to a usb memory stick or external hard drive. Enabling you to keep working.

Established in 1997 the workshop computers have been looking after small businesses and private customers for nearly 25 years!
We have a solid reputation for reliability quick service and affordable prices.
Our dedicated workshop on our own premises means lower overheads and more flexible working hours. This means the customer benefits from lower prices than high street stores for, and working from a home-based workshop means we are always here, even in emergencies, as some of my customers can testify.
One example of an emergency repair: A customer unable to log into his laptop (glitch in the registry profile) had to be in London the following morning, we fixed it overnight, he collected his laptop the next morning all working again by 6 AM. You would find it hard to find any repair center to match that level of service!
Looking for video to DVD/Digital file transfers?
We offer a VHS to DVD transfer service. We’ll take your old home movies and put them onto DVD or covert them to a digital file for you.
